ListView is a view in which several items can display in vertical scrollable list. The list items are automatically inserted to the list using an Adapter that pulls content from a source such as an array or database. There are lot of ways to delete items from a listview like doing long press action or by multiselect delete using action mode .
In this tutorial we will see the most user friendly way to delete an item from listview which is just by swiping list item. Before starting please refer my following tutorial Android Listview which explains how to implement a listview in android.

Steps
- Create new project in android studio
- Create custom touch listener class for listview
- Add the listview to the layout
- Use the touch listener in activity’s java file.

Create custom touch listener for listview
For implement a swipe to delete listview we need to have custom class. Create a java file under java/package and implement the following code.

Add listview to the layout
Add the following code to your layout, for adding listview

Use the touch listener in your java file
Now we need to add the data to the listview adapter. After that you need to use the touch listener for the listview as the listener created in second step. Following is the full code for the same task including listener.
